Zambesi Fiat for fashion and funding

New Zealand fashion icon Zambesi has designed a Fiat 500 to be displayed at the Breast Cancer Research Trust (BCRT) Fashion Showcase this week, as it goes up for auction for the charity.

The fashion-filled fundraiser will showcase nine of New Zealand’s top fashion designers, as attendees enjoy champagne and canapés. Zambesi will be one of the featured designers, and the stunning Zambesi Fiat will be on show so guests can enjoy an exclusive preview.

Neville Findlay, co-founder and designer of Zambesi, describes the car as “understated, in true Zambesi style” and says that the Fiat 500 is such an Italian icon that it was easy to say ‘yes’ to customising one for the BCRT.

“I wanted to keep the car equally appealing to both male and female bidders while retaining subtle styling for the personalisation, inside and out. That's why I opted for restyling the body rather than going over the top with graphics.”

Neville goes on to acknowledge that generous amounts of time, products and services were offered by a number of people to get the car looking outstanding.

“All of the great people that helped on this project know and care about the invaluable work that the Breast Cancer Research Trust is doing. I’m excited that I was able to help with this fundraising vehicle (literally) and am looking forward to seeing what it goes for on its TradeMe auction.”

All funds raised by the Zambesi Fiat 500 auction will go to the Breast Cancer Research Trust, to help work towards its goal of finding a cure for breast cancer by 2018.

The one of a kind Zambesi Fiat 500 will be revealed at the BCRT Fashion Showcase on Thursday May 24, at Andrew Simms European in Newmarket.

Every person who attends this glamorous evening will also receive a $50 in-store voucher from each fashion designer featured at the event!

Tickets are $55 and you can book online at www.breastcancercure.org.nz or call 0800 227 828.
