Co-founder Rachel Sloane shares her five favourite images
A status symbol like no other thanks to signature settings that discerning brides can spot across any crowded café, Naveya & Sloane’s engagement rings are the artisanal bread and butter of this fine jewellery business, founded in Auckland in 2010.
Renowned for diamond designs as fashionable as they are flawless, the Naveya & Sloane experience is far from cookie cutter, as is their latest campaign ‘Young at Heart’ – shot by Ophelia Jones and featuring her mother Beth, a Young at Heart muse.
Capturing the creative, youthful spirit of this new collection’s most scintillating offerings, Naveya & Sloane co-founder Rachel Sloane talks us through her five favourite shots.
“The concept of a hidden heart is a key detail across our Young at Heart collection. It gives each piece a youthful spirit and energy. Each piece is made to order, so our customers can choose which precious, heart-shaped stone to feature. I absolutely love this diamond and ruby combo.”
“The hidden heart detail is woven further throughout the collection in our claw set bands. Take a closer look and you’ll notice heart shaped claws setting each diamond in place.”
“The collection’s bold, gold bezel set pieces have my heart! Our 18k yellow gold rub over setting defines the shape of the precious stones, and gives each piece such a sunny and warm feeling.”
“This shot really encompasses the attitude of the collection. To celebrate the launch we reached out to the Naveya & Sloane family to gather images that they felt embodied a ‘young at heart’ energy. The collage subsequently created set the sunny and electric foundation for this special diamond band collection.”
“It’s important to me that my designs transcend any trend and will be admired and enjoyed through generations. One of my favourite things about jewellery is that it can capture a person’s history – their memories and life stories becoming a part of the piece like a precious time capsule.”
