Wynn Hamlyn will open the brand’s first ever retail store next month at Commercial Bay on Auckland’s waterfront. Designer Wynn Crawshaw founded the celebrated womenswear brand in 2014 and up until this point has been wholesaling his modern collections locally and internationally as well as selling online. The new ground floor Wynn Hamlyn store will officially open its doors on October 1st.
The brand will be in good company on Commercial Bay’s Little Queen Street which features a lineup of leading New Zealand fashion brands including Yu Mei, Elle + Riley, Twenty-seven names and Superette. Commercial Bay’s strong fashion offering is making it a go-to for Kiwi shoppers who want to shop local for the latest styles and trends.
Wynn Hamlyn has been steadily building a strong profile for the brand’s elegant yet playful womenswear collections that focus on clever design and beautiful tailoring. The brand has won acclaim for its stunning showings at New Zealand Fashion Week and has been doing selling appointments in showrooms in Paris for several seasons now. With a growing international wholesale business and the upswing in support locally for New Zealand labels, the brand decided now was the perfect time to focus on building their local customer base through their own retail store.
