Looks from Blak's latest collection featuring the collaborative print with Kelly Thompson.
Collaborations between designers and artists make fashion that much more exciting, and local label Blak's print collaboration with artist Kelly Thompson is an eye-catching delight this winter. "Kelly is such a talented artist, I’m personally obsessed with her work so was really keen to incorporate this in a Blak collection," says designer Teresa Hodges. "It's been amazing working with Kelly, she took the time to understand our brand and how her personal touch could fit into our asthetic."
The new collection features Blak's signature modern, effortless silhouettes that are easy to wear and appeal to a range of ages. The new print is a detailed floral that has more than first meets the eye. "We chatted about a winter floral, something pretty but not too pretty, a flower with a dark side," explains Hodges. " An entangled web that doesn’t shout floral but left the customer intrigued to look twice and take in more of the detail."
The result is charming pieces in navy and khaki in tops and dresses that are already proving popular. Hodges notes the Change in time dress is a key piece in the collection and also her personal favourite. "Mixing a tailored shirt finish with the statement flared bell sleeve and Kelly’s print, its a stand out piece," adds Hodges. "Another favourite for more low key effortless style is the Feeling Ok Dress, a full midi length tee dress, providing a whole new element to the print."
