Twenty-seven Names Release Still Life for Winter 2016

Twenty-seven Names NZFW 2015 show.

The winter collections start arriving in stores this month and one of the first to release their new range is Twenty-seven Names whose highly-praised Still Life collection arrives today. They were the opening label to show on the New Zealand Fashion Week runway last year and took the assembled crowd outside beneath a slate sky to showcase what was one of the most cohesive and effortless collections of the week.

Still Life is was inspired by Judy Chicago’s iconic feminist artwork from 1979 in which she creates the elaborate place settings of a dinner party for 39 mythical and historical famous women. Designer duo Rachel Easting and Anjali Stewart re-interpreted the artwork into their own party of 25 women, the ones who inspire, challenge and make their lives richer and more exciting which made for a wonderful celebration of women on the runway.

The looks themselves have that effortlessly elegant feel that has become Twenty-seven Names' signature, with a focus on wearability and natural fabrics that are great to wear. This collection bases its colour palette around peach which is a lovely way to brighten up dreary winter days and the neutrals and navy that make up the rest of the garments add to the easy to wear appeal of this range. The silhouettes are relaxed, hems are kept long for warmth and practicality, while matching coats and blazers add a sophistication that will continue to grow the brand's loyal older market. No doubt this collection will sell-out quickly and winter will be just peachy because of it.
