Leading Kiwi bridal designer, Trish Peng, has launched a consignment store which marks a sustainable step forward for her popular bridal business. Called Yours Truly, it’s a sister brand to Trish Peng’s eponymous range and the new store offers brides-to-be the opportunity to buy or sell pre-loved and sample wedding gowns. The choices available include gowns from Peng’s own label alongside other leading designers too, such as Rue de Seine.
Yours Truly is the perfect way for Trish Peng to give Kiwi brides more options when it comes to choosing what to wear on their special day. It also helps the brand reduce fashion waste by encouraging the re-use of gowns that still have life left in them yet. A brand-new bridal gown is often the most expensive piece of clothing a bride will ever buy, being able to buy a pre-loved or sample gown at a reduced price is a much more cost effective option, it’s also a great alternative for brides who are conscious about sustainability too.
“Wedding dresses are so rarely re-used and many women don’t often know what to do with their gowns a few years down the track, so why not create a platform that allows people to list and sell their wedding dresses like they do with other items in their wardrobe,” says Trish Peng. “With so much waste in the fashion industry, I’m excited to help reduce this and I think launching the Yours Truly platform is going to save a lot of dresses in perfectly wearable condition from ending up in landfills.”
The Yours Truly showroom is open via appointment and is conveniently located next-door to Trish Peng’s beautiful flagship store at 37 Mackelvie Street, Grey Lynn, Auckland. The showroom offers the same impeccable service from the Trish Peng team and customers will also have access to onsite alterations, with the Trish Peng workroom helpfully cohabiting the showroom space.
Trish Peng has also committed to donating $10 from every sale to charity, offering a selection of deserving causes that buyers can choose from to donate too, including Women’s Refuge, Starship Foundation and Breast Cancer Foundation NZ.
