Kayla Jurlina and Trelise Cooper at their Winter 2016 preview
There was a definite hole left by Trelise Cooper on this year's New Zealand Fashion Week main schedule as for the first time since the event's inception she had a much needed break from the hectic pace of preparing and presenting a winter collection on the runway. As one of New Zealand fashion's most celebrated designers her collections are always greeted with great anticipation each season so it was with excitement that the local fashion media gathered recently for her Winter 2016 preview at her flagship Britomart boutique.
Presenting the mainline Trelise Cooper collection, the Cooper by Trelise Cooper collection and COOP which is designed by Kayla Jurlina, it was a wonderful morning of beautiful fashion. Since images of the collections haven't yet been fully released we wanted to share a sneak peek with you of Trelise Cooper's mainline collection and will be previewing COOP as well in the next few weeks.
For Winter 2016, Trelise Cooper has drawn inspiration from the glitzy and romantic city of Shanghai in the 1920s and the glamourous socialites and divas whose winsome outfits were opulent and feminine. Gorgeous prints, delicate lace and intricate embellishments feature on sculptural shapes and flatteringly cut silhouettes. As with all Trelise Cooper collections, there is much to be admired and the closer you get the more pretty details and wonderful textures become apparent, the garments are as sublime to wear as they are to look at. Unsurprisingly Trelise Cooper fans will have much to covet when this collection starts arriving in late January/early February next year.
