Top Three Trends from the Met Gala

Last week’s Met Gala celebrated the opening of the Costume Institute's “Schiaparelli and Prada: Impossible Conversations” exhibit. Red carpet trends included metallics, sheers, and gowns from Prada.

Prada Couture

The stars were decked out in plenty of Prada in honor of the Costume Institute's exhibit “Impossible Conversations: Elsa Schiaparelli and Miuccia Prada” last night. Notable Prada enthusiasts included Anna Wintour, Milla Jovovich, and Amber Valetta.

Metallics

The stars were shining in metallics. Jessica Alba looked fabulous in Michael Kors, Nina Dobrev stunned in her Donna Karan gown, and Camilla Belle stood out in Ralph Lauren.

Sheers

From tulle to lace, sheers dominated the red carpet at the Met Gala. Notable stars in sheer included Beyonce in Givenchy, Heidi Klum in Escada, Marion Cotillard in Dior.

While the Met Gala gowns are often regarded as somewhat costumey, we can still draw tons of inspiration from the trends we spot on this red carpet.
