Top 5 Trends from NZFW 2012

With NZ Fashion Week coming to an end, it?s time to reflect on the key trends we spotted on the runway – and what we can expect to be wearing next winter.

So, what popped up most in our designers? collections?

Floral Print
As was spotted on the international runways, floral was huge at this year?s New Zealand Fashion Week!! Coop, Juliette Hogan, and Arielle Mermin – in addition to quite a few others (such as Trelise) all thought florals were hot for winter (as did I, as I was seen wearing floral print pants on the first day of Fashion Week!)

Structured Jackets
Annah Stretton, Charlie Brown, and taylor presented shaped, structured jacket pieces.

Collars – Peter Pan and otherwise
Ingrid Starnes? collection featured an ode to the classic PP collar – switching up the highnecked design for a more low cut, larger collar version. BLAK presented an edgier modern collar in its designs. Salasai?s collection had many collars. The one below was sharp edged and styled in a Western theme.

Lace
Juliette Hogan, twentyseven names, and BLAK all featured lace pieces in their collections.

Mid-length Hemlines
Annah S took some of her hemlines to a tea length, while Charlie Brown and taylor?s ended at the knee.
