Last year, we ran our first reader survey in many years and we were thrilled with how many of you took the time to answer our questions. Your feedback enables us to produce more of the stories you want to see and helps shape our editorial plan for the year. This year, we’ve created another survey and as well as a few questions about content we’d also like to know what you would be interested in from our future events and what you think about a membership scheme we are looking at creating to make your FashioNZ experience even better. With your help on our 2020 reader survey we can offer you more of what you love about New Zealand fashion and beauty on FashioNZ.
As you know, the media landscape has changed a lot in the past few years and while we have decided that FashioNZ’s website will remain free to access for everyone, we want to introduce an optional membership that will help us continue to fund our site but also offer you some special things that make the most of our fashion and beauty industry connections. The membership would offer high value competitions (worth over $500) several times a year, exclusive discounts for NZ designers and brands several times a year, one free FashioNZ event a year and discounted access to other FashioNZ events as well as opportunities for designer and celebrity meet and greets and a free beauty gift on sign-up. We are working out the specific details for each of these things and they would be finalised and clear to anyone who signed up but we wanted to give you an indication of what we envision the membership scheme would look like.
We’ve seen several websites asking people to donate or become members and have had PressPatron (you can find it in red at the bottom of this page) on our own site too for a while but we wanted to take it a step further and offer you a lot more value and make it more like a magazine subscription in the sense it would have free gifts, discounts and event invitations. We work closely with many local designers and brands so thought this was the perfect opportunity to utilise those connections to make your FashioNZ experience even better!
