The Iris Caftan operates as sleepwear, loungewear, and daywear
The importance of a good night’s sleep rates highly on the wellbeing scale, so we’re delighted to meet the new Pearl Spring Summer 22 collection from General Sleep. And even more delighted to realise that many of these pieces seamlessly translate from bedtime across to loungewear and day wear.
The versatile collection is crafted around organic cotton trans-seasonal pieces that invite rest and pause. The classic spring palette introduces a deliciously fresh Pear Stripe, charming Rose Gingham and General Sleep’s first print – the whimsical but bold and lively Fruit Print.
Spring also sees a new fabric addition to General Sleep’s core range, white cotton with a textured Swiss dot that adds an understated element to neutral pieces for those who value simplicity and
refinement.
Each General Sleep design aims to blur the line between what we wear in bed and outside, in particular, the new Evie Slip and Iris Caftan styles, suitable for any time of day or night. Throw the Evie Slip over togs as a beach dress substitute or style it with a denim jacket and sandals for an easy lunch date outfit.
Inspired by oversized silhouettes, the Iris Caftan is an all-purpose, trans-seasonal piece worthy of a summer holiday. The longer length and billowed sleeve add to its versatility, making it easy to
transform from casual to evening wear with a few simple styling tricks. Whether worn as a cover-up while lounging by the pool or dressed up with accessories after dark, she’s a winner.
General Sleep is designed in New Zealand and lovingly handcrafted in India, with each garment being made with connection, longevity, and comfort in mind. The label is dedicated to using organic fabrics that stand the test of time and has a strong focus on transparency within its supply chain.
This commitment, alongside the ongoing support of artisan weavers and their centuries-old practice of hand-loomed materials, allows the wearer to rest easy knowing all garments are ethically-made.
