Frocks, shirts, singlets, layers – you name it, the designers it and they did it well. The look was sweet and demure with the sheer fabrics coming down the catwalk in light colours and often in girly, frilly layers, or panelled inserts (as seen at Sara Phillips above).

In another manifestation of this trend, crochet was on the rampage in the form of westie-luxe pieces – singlets and frocks showing little glimpses of skin – very Bondi Beach, and you can tell it is what all the 'cool-kids' will be wearing in the weekends this summer.

This trend obviously goes hand-in-hand with 'the underwear trend' – we need something to wear under our wispy sheers to protect our modesty, don't we!
