Summer 2019
This season ‘Nordic’ draws inspiration from vast landscapes and new Nordic design.
Garment details embrace clean lines and folds, elements that resonate well with modern Norse design.
Textile selections rely mostly on natural fibers.
Fabrics have elements of texture and structure, creating depth in the collection.
Signature print ‘Oslo’ plays into abstract elements of Norse symbols.
Complimented by the hand drawn ‘Loki’ print, providing a strong contrast.
What inspires you?
Environments. Our landscapes are a huge influence. Constantly inspired by people and street style.
Describe your personal style/s and how it influences your designs?
My personal style is relaxed. A lover of texture, the juxtaposition of hard and soft fabrics.
The NYNE customer is effortlessly cool. An ageless dresser, considerate of design and quality.
What is your all-time favourite purchase?
I had a few over the years but I’d be lost without my Black leather jacket. Worn all seasons, this is my go to.
Look from NYNE’s S/S 18/19 collection.
What wardrobe item should everyone invest in?
Quality over quantity! Good quality merino items will last for seasons. Clever design, items that can worn all season with some intelligent layering.
Do you have a style rule you always obey?
Don’t force it! I have pieces in my wardrobe on high rotation, these items I loved the minute I put them on. If I’m ever unsure about a style it usually sits there desperately waiting to be worn.
What has been the highlight of your career so far?
Tough one… our last runway show at NZFW NOMADIC W14 was pretty exhilarating! Such good press following the show.
What can’t you live without?
My family and coffee. Most of the time enjoyed together.
Finish this sentence – You would never catch us wearing…
Crocs… I don’t care how cool Balenciaga thinks they can make them it’s a no from me!
