Tiffany Jeans founded her brand CurioNoir in 2011 to create beautifully perfumed candles, soaps and curiosities which reflect her fascination for the unique and Maori heritage. Each piece is handcrafted by Tiffany’s team of artisans wtih her luxurious scents custom-blended with the help of expert French perfumers. In August this year she launched CurioNoir’s first flagship store on Ponsonby Road which was designed by Rufus Knight.
We caught up with Tiffany to find out more about her latest range, what inspires her and what you would never catch her wearing!
Tell us about your latest range?
With the opening of our flagship store, CurioNoir has launched a perfume range. We have four Parfums, Dark Bouquet, Tobacco Night, Diaphanous and Opia. We have aged them before we have bottled them in store and we are so in love with them! We also have released a new candle which arrives in clear glass named Diaphanous, like the Parfum and two beautiful Hard Soaps.
What made you get into perfume and candles?
As keepsakes at my wedding I made our guests small skull candles as we had a ’til death do we part’ theme and from this special day, my good friend Kristine Crabb thought we could sell them in her store. From there our brand has grown in to what it is today! I have always loved boutique perfumes… who doesn’t really?! I needed to learn more so researched and went to Paris and Grasse and now work with some truly amazing perfumers.
What inspires you?
My friends and family, memories, magazines, Tumblr. Anything and everything really.

Describe your personal style and how it influences your brand?
I think my personal style influences my brand in the sense I like to do things my own way, not following trends.
What is your all-time favourite purchase?
I don’t have one, but a few notables, Fendi Pumps, Alexander McQueen heels, Miss Crabb bedcoat, Helmut Lang denim jacket I bought when I was 18. I have many good purchases!
What wardrobe item should every woman invest in?
Heels and diamonds.
Do you have a style rule you always obey?
Whatever the occasion, you must always feel comfortable with what you wear!

What can’t you live without?
My family, friends and beautiful scents.
