Tell us about your latest collection?
‘Borrowed Dreams’ is my latest bridal collection and I was inspired by a dark romance if you will, of mystical dreams and a haze like vision of a modern-day love story. The designs are feminine yet bold, and I have used a selection of stunning laces. This season I have also introduced a beautiful shade of a deep amethyst as I love the idea of a bride being wed in colour.

What made you become a designer?
I have adored fashion and sketching since I was a little girl, and later on absolutely fell in love with the pages of Vogue magazine.

What inspires you?
Romance, flowers, travel, and nature are a few of what I consider to be the most beautiful things and that which inspires me on a daily basis.

Describe your personal style and how it influences your designs?
My personal style has always veered towards a pretty femininity, though I have definitely found my style has matured with a more classic and contemporary twist as I’ve gotten older, so naturally my designs have followed suit. For example, most of the dresses I design now include pockets, simply because I myself need the practicality of pockets!

What is your all-time favourite purchase?
My mini Lady Dior handbag in blush pink

What wardrobe item should every woman invest in?
A well-fitted cocktail dress, one that you can style up or style down.

Do you have a style rule you always obey?
I feel if you expose the lower part of your body, then the upper part should be covered and vice versa.

What has been the highlight of your career so far?
I am so amazed at how my career has panned out so far, it is hard to pick just one highlight. I have worked with the luxury brand Tiffany & Co, have featured in almost every fashion/bridal magazine in New Zealand and have had celebrities wear my pieces as well. I still have a lot of projects in the works at the moment so it is really hard to pick just the one!

What can’t you live without?
My husband and kids.

Finish this sentence – You would never catch me wearing…
