Lindi Kingi, designer and owner of Lindi Kingi Design.
Lindi Kingi started her namesake jewellery brand in 2010, creating romantic designer jewellery that has grown in popularity and seen her add in several new ranges and additions to her business in the past six years. Her gorgeous designs are now stocked in around 60 stores and she collaborates with The Mint Republic on a range of deluxe sterling silver jewellery as well.
We caught up with Lindi to find out more about her brand, what inspires her and what you would never catch her wearing!
Tell us about your latest collection?
HALO is our current range and we are about to release HALO AFTER-LIGHT, the same designs, but with a beautiful Black Onyx stone instead of White Topaz.
We will also be releasing SYMMETRY in the not too distant future, a range that is completely different to past collections, with a focus on a desire for simplicity and reflection.
What made you become a designer?
I think it was just that the need to create was greater than the fear of failure.
What inspires you?
My inspiration of late has mostly come from a desire to find balance. Juggling the responsibilities of being a wife and mother, running a business and my need for my own time either out with friends or at the gym, can be a challenge. SYMMETRY – our next range goes into this a little deeper and the pieces that have come from the introspection are really beautiful.

Describe your personal style and how it influences your products and brand?
Hmmm… personal style, I like things that are comfortable and have some longevity. I am not particularly ‘trend’ orientated and I feel this comes through in the Lindi Kingi Deluxe and Lindi Kingi Design jewellery ranges as they are not seasonal, some people I talk to have worn their jewellery for years! As a brand we have grown organically with around 60 stores that we now wholesale too. We try to focus on not just selling great products, but having great customer service and follow through for our stores and personal customers.
What is your all-time favourite purchase?
The land we bought a few years ago in the Bay of Plenty. It’s so beautiful!
Do you have a style rule you always obey?
No – I just think if it feels good to you wear it, such a generic comment, but I actually mean it!
What can’t you live without?
A good night out occasionally with good friends, great cocktails and lots of dancing!
Finish this sentence – You would never catch me wearing…
A Donald Trump supporters t-shirt!
