Jenny Drury, designer and owner of Ketz-ke.
This year marks a decade since Jenny Drury started Ketz-ke in 2006 and it's a label that represents her confident personality and love of clothing that has individuality. Jenny had spent her career in fashion working in sales and designing other labels before starting Ketz-ke and she travels regularly to get inspiration for her new colourful collections that are casual yet stylish.
We caught up with Jenny to find out more about her brand, what inspires her and what you would never catch her wearing!
Tell us about your latest collection?
My latest collection is all about being comfortable in yourself. I want to give you the clothes to make you stand up tall and say “This is me!” I get so much lovely feedback from women telling me that they get stopped in the street wearing Ketz-ke and are asked where their clothes are from. However, we all know that confidence doesn’t come from the approval of others, it comes from within. I strive to create clothing that will make you feel strong, empowered and comfortable. The knock-on effect is that people will be unable to ignore your aura. Tell the world "Hey, this is me. I don’t want to blend in, I want to stand out. I chose this bright colour, I chose this bold style and I know it looks great because I feel great!" Positivity and confidence radiating, those around you (including yourself) will be able to see your beauty from the inside and out. It's a dead-end street if you sit around waiting for someone else to tell you you're okay.
What made you become a designer?
I had a passion for fashion from about the age of 5. I’ve always loved clothes and putting outfits together. Becoming a designer was just a very natural progression through the fashion ranks from working in fashion retail stores, being a sales rep out on the road selling fashion ranges and then finally designing.
What inspires you?
Inspiration for me is everywhere. You just need a good eye to spot it.

Describe your personal style and how it influences your products and brand?
Ketz-Ke is a range that is in sync with my own life. It is a casual range that reflects my personality. I design pieces with a point of difference for life in the real world that are going to set you apart from the masses! The collection is always representative of the woman I am and the woman I'm striving to be.
What is your all-time favourite purchase?
A camel knee length suede jacket I brought about 20 years ago. It is the only garment that has remained in my wardrobe for over 20 years so it has to be special. I wore it not so long ago and still get comments on it.
What wardrobe item should every woman invest in?
A great pair of black pants. I think black pants can take you anyway from streetwear to nightwear to weekend wear.
Do you have a style rule you always obey?
I don’t obey any rules. Actually being in fashion I love to break rules. I’m all about turning heads. Style for me is not only about the clothes it’s about how you wear them. Confidence plays a big part in looking stylish.
What has been the highlight of your career so far?
It’s very hard to pin point this as I have had many highlights and all are special in their own way. Selling into the USA and showing Ketz-ke at Coterie Fashion Show in New York and then Magic Fashion Show in LA was pretty cool. But it still continues to give me a buzz when I see woman walk down the street in my clothes. Quite simply the amazing emails I receive from women telling me how much they love Ketz- ke is also a highlight. It’s so rewarding
What can’t you live without?
Haha… I can’t live without new clothes!!! In this industry you get bored of things very quickly so I’m always looking for the next best thing.
