Style File: Jasmine Kroeze from Pinch & Punch

Jasmine Kroeze, designer and owner of Pinch & Punch.

Jasmine Kroeze is all about ethical fashion and she created her label Pinch & Punch in late 2015 to make collections that are sustainable, with each design having 20 pieces or less available. The limited edition nature of her range means the wearer knows their outfit is unlikely to be seen on anyone else which is a rarity in fashion these days. Jasmine has kept production of Pinch & Punch local, using suppliers in Auckland and is committed to keeping her supply chain transparent which is something we heard a lot about last week during Fashion Revolution Week and is important for the future of the fashion industry.

We caught up with Jasmine to find out more about her newly released winter collection, what inspires her and what you would never catch her wearing!

Tell us about your latest collection?
The Winter 16 collection is entitled 'Furtherance'. It's all about a a feeling of progression and betterment. As a natural evolution from the previous collection, the new range plays with the contrast between drape and subtle tailoring. Playing with versatility, there are a number of pieces that can be worn in multiple ways. Bonus.

What made you become a designer?
After a decade of fashion industry experience, I really wanted to focus on longevity. This is a vast contrast to the current mass market trend of fast fashion. While working in the industry, I became acutely aware of the effects the fashion industry is having on our planet and our people. I really wanted to design mindfully, so each garment is highly considered in light of minimising environmental and social impacts.

What inspires you?
People, nature and music.

Describe your personal style and how it influences your products and brand?
I have a soft spot for great details, beautiful textures and colour. My personal style is reflected in the brand, I love to wear everything in the range (especially some of the menswear). I also design in light of customer feedback, the draped jumpsuit was designed specifically for a friend of mine. She's a photographer and was so frustrated with not being able to find the perfect outfit to shoot weddings in. So I created the perfect jumpsuit for her.

My bespoke wedding ring by Zoe & Morgan. Does it count if I didn't pay for it?!
