Saben's sublime new store interior.
Celebrated local label Saben has just opened a flagship store at 133 Ponsonby Road in Auckland, which will no doubt became a favoured shopping destination for fans of the brand's luxury leather handbags and accessories. “As a Ponsonby local, I have just been waiting on the right spot to pop up… timing was right, so I jumped,” says designer and owner Roanne Jacobson. “In the wake of the success of our Auckland Airport boutique, we felt the time was right to show Ponsonby the creative vision of Saben.”
The stunning new store has been designed in collaboration with Jacobson to be a spacious, gallery-like interior in neutral tones which makes the vibrant colours of Saben's latest range pop and creates a welcoming environment for customers. The historic Ponsonby Road store features elegant Art Deco detailing, ply panelling, whitewash floors and Saben’s iconic slogan emblazoned on one wall – “you lucky lucky thing”. It's the perfect place for customers to get the full brand experience and shop from Saben's seasonal collections of beautiful handbags, small accessories, jewellery and luggage.
“Saben’s new high profile studio will lift brand recognition and be the hub for our 50 stockists around the country to draw inspiration, product knowledge and embody the creative muse of Saben,” adds Jacobson. Saben’s complete range will be showcased in store, which includes the popular and classic Tilly bag, which doubles as a wallet or a purse and the new ultra-graphic Valentine patchwork tote which is an ode to the glamour of the 1970s.
