Saben’s stunning new Reflection collection for Spring/Summer ’19 is in stores and online now with bold new designs. The range invites you to embrace self-love with creative director and founder Roanne Jacobson inspired by the body positivity movement. While we’re often looking for perfection when we look in the mirror but can be uncomfortable with what we see, Saben looks to turn this discomfort into empowerment and self-acceptance.
Roanne rejects the idea of shying away from your reflection, and wants the collection to act as a reminder to be unashamedly yourself. It’s a strong ideal that inspired her throughout the design process.
“When choosing the bright colours and unique details of this collection, I felt inspired to create accessories that would make women proud to stand out while appealing to their individuality,” says Roanne. “Fashion should be without barriers, as should self-love, so this movement is something we are proud to advocate through this collection.”
The range features a motif of repeated spheres which can be seen in the circular hardware, round studs, and bold handles. These beautiful curves are shapes to be embraced, not turned away from and add to the appeal of the collection. This season’s hues are vivid and an unconventional take on summer colours that are sure to empower and inspire. Orange, lemon, sage, cinnamon, french navy and birch are stunning hues that are confident and made to be noticed.
Carrying on the theme of being unashamedly yourself is the range’s striking new silhouettes including Jaeger, Curtis, Jaxson and Mackenzie that reference 90’s glam rock. These styles feature metallic hardware details, spliced chains, studs, detailed zip pullers and gorgeous suede tassels which are unexpected but appealing. They make for unforgettable bags that are eye-catching and stylish.
The accompanying images play on the theme of repetition in the collection with each reflection revealing more to it than it first seems. Saben have used mirrors in a clever and playful way, to remind us that a reflection is not something to be feared. Saben embraces the power of individuality and wants you to do the same.
