Runway D.I.Y – Smith Studios Launch

Smith Studios Launch

A swarm of fabulous people descended into Kingsland recently to celebrate the launch of Smith Studios and the relocation of renowned photographer Robin Smith to a newer, fresher, more fabulous studio in Morningside. It was also a chance for streetwear label Doosh and Trix & Dandy to showcase their summer collections.

Runway Look – Born to be Free
The look was boho chic. A bronze smoky eye, minimal coverage and a caramel toned lip. Use Bella Vi Pure Mineral makeup to create this natural, sexy, summery glow.

Your Look
The idea behind this look is all about creating soft diffusions of colour, using earth tones to give a natural sun-kissed look to the skin. While the runway look was definitely wearable for evening, I’ll talk you through how to wear this for everyday.

Skin
Apply concealer where needed and to cover any dark circles around the eyes, nose and lips.  Finish off with a tinted moisturiser to give the skin a fresh dewy appearance.

Eyes
Apply a light brown eye shadow to the lids up to, but not into the crease. Over this apply a light bronze eye shadow and blend up and out to diffuse any lines. Define the crease of your eyes using a matte dark brown eye shadow, starting at the outer corner of your lashline and blending up and in along the crease of the eye (where your eye socket is, just under your brow bone). Line the top lashline using the same dark brown eyeshadow and an angle brush. Apply two coats of mascara to finish.

Cheeks
Use a matte bronzer to lightly darken the hollows of the cheeks and underneath the jaw line. This will give the illusion of stronger bone structure and will make your face look slimmer.

Lips
Line the lips using a flesh toned liner to add definition. Fill in using a caramel coloured lipgloss.

Pro Tips
Create a soft sultry look by blending out the colour into your skin tone. No harsh lines!

Use eye shadow as eyeliner for a softer, more wearable look. Press along your lash line using an angle brush

Don’t forget to apply eye shadow to the lower lashline too. Use a light shade for a more “awake” look.

Pair this look with a loose hair braid and you’re set to run free!
