It definitely feels like Summer isn’t far away when the Resort collections start arriving and RUBY‘s chic new Resort range is in stores and online now. RUBY can always be relied on for collections that are uplifting and full of charm and this latest range definitely delivers the goods. Creative director Deanna Didovich has named the collection tides, although the inspiration for it is not quite as literal as the name implies.
“Tides is a reflection of my emotions, the ebb and flow of waves inspired me,” says Deanna Didovich. “I have felt confined and overwhelmed with change in 2020, which are feelings I am sure others can relate to too. Tides is a nod to that. Resort is a pivotal collection of our year; it’s us ending the year on the best note possible. I wanted tides to feel free, nostalgic and sentimental. It’s all about silhouettes that accentuate the body’s natural curves and colours that are charming and optimistic.”
This new collection has a carefree feeling that is perfectly suited to Summer adventuring aided by vibrant hues and playful silhouettes. There’s a fun retro feel to the new Portia pieces that offer a maxi bandeau dress, shirt and wide-leg pant in a retro inspired ocean blue and earthy brown zig zag print on GOTS-certified cotton. Another key piece is the gorgeous Cruise Linen Bow Dress in energetic mango and chocolate that features a tie-up front and batwing sleeves, and the alternative for those who prefer pants is the Cruise Linen Pantsuit which offers elegant day to night dressing.
Plenty of sundresses, versatile knits, sweet crops and stylish pants all make for breezy Summer dressing in gorgeous gingham and wonderful prints. Fabrics are light and easy to wear in the balmy weather with linen and cotton the perfect hero fabrics. RUBY Swim returns again this season with great prints from the collection turned into modern swimwear with a retro twist. The pieces are made from ECONYL, the regenerated nylon, that is created from recycled fishing nets and nylon waste. It makes for excellent swimwear and RUBY have added tortoise ring details to their covetable swim pieces. RUBY’s new swimwear, and indeed this whole collection, is perfect for chasing the tides this summer.
