As refreshing as it’s name suggests, RUBY‘s latest range called Cucumber has started arriving in stores and online today with all the right pieces for uncomplicated summer dressing. Creative Director Deanna Didovich notes that ‘The simplest of moments can be brightened with a slice of Cucumber. A tall jug of ice-cold water, a sharp G&T, a fresh summer salad; Cucumber makes a subtle yet significant impact,’ which is exactly what this charming new collection achieves.
The hero print for the range is called Dylan and incorporates hand painted elements inspired by porcelain pottery, the detailed design is emphasised by a brush stroke effect which borders on retro but still feels of the moment. The print features on a crop and midi skirt set as well as a bias-cut slip dress and activewear styles. RUBY also employed a hand-drawn feel for the linear floral of the Savannah print which features a warm chocolate brown base and makes for appealing maxi dress and slip dress styles.
RUBY have a knack for making gingham feel effortlessly modern and fun, with this collection utilising soft pink, tan and olive for playful ruched pieces. The gingham also translates beautifully to a stylish blazer and shorts set as well as a wrap dress and and light summer shirting. The brand’s always popular Mirella offering returns in lemon with a sweet sundress a new style for the season. There’s a focus on silhouettes that hug the body and accentuate curves which adds to the allure of the range, there’s plenty of breezy skirts and relaxed shapes too which up the summery feeling. Adding a slice of RUBY Cucumber to your summer just makes sense.
