RUBY have launched the brand’s winter collection in stores and online, which is titled Buffer and created to ease the wearer through a time of change. Creative Director Deanna Didovich was thinking about this period of adjustment we are going through in Aotearoa when designing this range which like it’s name suggests, offers ‘a moment, a breath, a break, a Buffer’ as we navigate through this time of change and figure out what we want to do next.
“Currently, our memories are buffering; to a time where a 12-hour flight was nothing out of the ordinary, a RAT was only an animal, and face masks were just for selfcare,” says Deanna. “While some things are the same, our memories are not reality and a lot of decisions, big and small, are headed our way. So let us make it easy for you, as you brace yourself for the known and unknown.”
Created with winter temperatures in mind, Buffer has a range of cosy knitwear in lots of beautiful textures, shapes and styles including sweaters, vests and cardigans. Among the featured pieces are Wylie, a cable knit in grey marle, that makes for a weighty cropped sweater and vest. The Matilda pieces have a sweet fluted cuff works perfectly for a soft sweater and cardigan. These lovely knits are designed to be layered over this season’s charming range of dresses, shirts and tops in a range of stylish silhouettes.
RUBY’s appealing new Suzie Jean in classic blue and indigo offers a great staple to wear for seasons to come. There’s a few favourites that have returned in this collection such as Bettina, Clover, Ima and the ever popular Mirella which features bold new colours that brighten up any grey day. The energetic colour palette of this range is a perfect antidote to winter weather. RUBY know that gorgeous clothes help you feel confident and ready to take you wherever your journey goes next.
