Perfectly timed for the most romantic day of the year, Meadowlark Jewellery‘s beautiful new Venus collection has started arriving in stores and online. The gorgeous range will be arriving in three drops between now and March with inspiration for this collection coming from two different styles; Botticelli’s Renaissance artwork, The Birth of Venus,  and a fan-shaped 1970s vintage lamp by Carlo Giorgi.

Designers Greg Fromont and Claire Hammon have utilised imperfectly shaped Baroque pearls, grey diamonds and pink and green sapphires to bring their winsome collection to life. The dramatic shapes of which reference the grandeur of their inspiration and are also a nod to 80s high glamour. Sterling silver, platinum and gold form the metal basis for each design with a heart motif featuring on bold hoops, delicate necklaces and a classic signet ring. The lovely Baroque pearls make for charming drop and stud earrings not to mention cocktail rings that feel classic yet modern all at once.

The collection includes the Vita range which features a clever folded fan shape that is ‘suggestive of a gingko leaf ’s rays or a Gothic Madonna’s radiant halo’ and is a delightful match for the Baroque pearls. There is also a sweet collection of rings inscribed with French and English declarations of love that are a fittingly romantic gift yet able to be worn every day.

Meadowlark’s jewellery is handmade in their Auckland atelier with the first release of their new Venus collection available at Meadowlark stockists and online now.
