Since the introduction of the iconic 501 jeans, celebrated as the first blue jeans, Levi’s has been tirelessly innovating their cherished garments while honouring their rich heritage. In the exhilarating world of motor racing, McLaren Racing has also been pushing the boundaries, enhancing their prestigious cars without compromising their elegance. Now, for the first time, these two legends come together in the new Levi’s x McLaren Racing Collection, blending the finest of tradition and innovation.
The Levi’s x McLaren Racing collection includes a Racing Jacket, Racing Suit, Racing Gloves, Heritage Trucker, Heritage 501 Jeans, Constructors Tee, and a Racing Bandana. Inspired by the vintage era of McLaren Racing, the cropped and boxy Racing Jacket features chain-stitch embroidery on the back and twill taping at the cuffs and hem. It’s offered in a light wash with a satin liner and an embossed vegetable-tanned leather co-branded patch.
Similarly, the Racing Suit comes in a light wash and features a slightly dropped crotch, a roomy fit, and a straight leg. It’s adorned with vintage-inspired patches, a crackle print down the right leg, and the same co-branded leather patch. The suit has a vegetable-tanned leather zipper pull at the front centre.
The three-tone Racing Gloves, inspired by archival McLaren Racing graphic vintage posters, use colours from the classic McLaren palette and have perforation patterns for breathability. Made with Italian leather and a Levi’s shank for snap closure, the gloves showcase the embroidered signature of McLaren Racing founder Bruce McLaren and a debossed McLaren logo.
The Heritage Trucker, with a medium wash, has a cropped, boxy fit and pintucks at the elbows. The front zipper is backed by red tape, and the red co-branded back patch nods to McLaren’s classic cars from the ’80s. For a unique twist, the Heritage 501 Jeans replace the left back pocket with a shadow pocket featuring a crackle print and a red tape welt zipper pocket at the top. They also sport vintage-inspired patches and a red co-branded back patch to celebrate McLaren Racing’s heritage.
