Resene fashions colour

Think blue-reds, bold pops, duck egg blues, jungle greens, black-white, greige not beige, and stripes, as you glam up your paint surfaces this summer.

A fresh batch of new Resene colours will roll out at Resene Color Shops in mid-September.

They will chart new colour territory and will also stay loyal to many all-time Kiwi favourites like Pohutukawa red and Gumboot grey.

But while the paint is still wet on Resene’s new-season paint charts, audiences at New Zealand Fashion Week will be first to witness the new colour cues, coming to life on the runway, brushed into fashion art on the goodie bags, and frocked up in glistening glory on mannequins.

The Resene NZ Fashion Tech Colour of Fashion collection, created by students from NZ Fashion Tech in a fashion partnership with Resene, will open the Resene Designer Selection Shows.

The first of five Resene Designer Selection Shows kicks off at 5pm on Wednesday 27 August at the ANZ Viaduct Events Centre. The other shows follow at 3.30pm on Thursday, 1pm and 6pm on Friday, and finally 7pm on Saturday.

The inaugural show will be presented by NEXT magazine and will reveal the Resene NZ Fashion Tech Colour of Fashion collection, before ushering onto the runway in-season fashion from some of New Zealand’s top designers and Jockey. Tickets at iTicket.

And in the spirit of creativity Resene says: “find your inner wild child”. This season is expected to see Kiwis colour-block and paint-effect their walls, stencil-paint shapes, colour ceilings, embrace weathered paint effects so that character is locked in time, and entice the kids away from technology with a full painted blackboard or whiteboard – call it your ‘imagination wall’ – in the kitchen or family room.
