The Resene Colour of Fashion project returns for the 8th time with Whitecliffe Fashion Tech for the Resene Designer Runway shows at New Zealand Fashion Week 2021. The show will feature the colourful work of 16 talented emerging designers with garments in some of Resene’s vibrant paint colours.

This year marks the 20th year of New Zealand Fashion Week and also the 75th year that Resene has been at forefront of all things colour in New Zealand. This year’s group of designers were inspired by both current trends and design elements from 1946, the year Resene began and the result is quite spectacular.

“We love giving these creative young people a headstart in fashion. They immerse themselves in their Resene colour and produce a stunning contemporary look that celebrates the colour and their talent,” says Karen Warman from Resene.

The 16 finalists whose designs will appear in the Resene Designer Runway show at NZ Fashion Week are:

AUCKLAND
Sarah Browning
Jordan Tay
Shelly Michael
Hannah Tawfeek
Grace Ngametua
Jessie Larking

WELLINGTON
Sophia Latief
Brenda Woods
Leanne Challand
Vorak Chy-Long
Ratha Sar
Aeron Balgemino
Elizabeth Robertson
Olivia Hix
Paula Logologo
Geenah Hymers

The colourful finalist’s designers will also lead Whitecliffe Fashion Tech’s graduate runway show in November, where the 2021 winner will be announced and a prize from Resene will be presented. Best of luck to all the finalists.
