Looks from R.M.Williams’ SS21: The Journey Of The Ghan. Image supplied.
R.M.Williams is a legendary Australian brand and The Ghan is a legendary Australian experience both homed in Adelaide so it makes perfect sense that the heritage of the two has been cleverly combined in R.M.Williams’ Spring/Summer 21 collection ‘The Journey Of The Ghan’. The new range which is out now and accompanying imagery (which were shot on location on The Ghan) pay tribute to the rugged landscape of Australia and the R.M.Williams spirit of adventure.
This season, R.M.Williams honours the history and intricacies of modern workwear while celebrating it’s own brand evolution from pasture to pavement, and bush to boardroom. The collection itself sees the reinvention of classic styles and the iconic line of R.M.Williams footwear expands to include a modern iteration of the Lady Yearling and the Kingscote boot which join the women’s collection, and the Comfort Craftsman now available in moulton, yearling, crazy horse and suede leathers.
The leather types and colours used in the women’s and men’s ranges are inspired by the distinct colours of the outback, including burnt ochre, slate and mustard. Through the clothing range hues of eucalypt, blush and marine provide highlights that also elicit the essence of the journey on The Ghan. R.M.Williams’ latest collection of boots, bags, sneakers and ready-to-wear clothing is beautifully showcased against a backdrop of train travel crossing Australia’s centre. Everything from rugged to elegant pieces easily take the modern adventurer from scenic gorges to luxury onboard dining and create memorable moments on the journey.
The incredible campaign imagery was photographed in early 2020 ahead of the unprecedented events of this year and showcases the beauty of the Australian outback as well as the incredible craftsmanship on The Ghan and the brand’s latest range of course. It is an adventure from country to city – and on one of the world’s greatest journeys, beginning or ending in Adelaide, the home of R.M.Williams.
