New Zealand Fashion Week (NZFW) is excited to announce its provisional designer line up for 2014, with a long list of designers from around the country and overseas, including industry heavyweights and the next generation of New Zealand’s emerging fashion talent, set to light up the catwalks at the ANZ Viaduct Events Centre.

NZFW welcomes back big name designers Kate Sylvester, NOM*d* and Juliette Hogan to the schedule, who will once again show their highly anticipated forward season collections (Autumn/Winter 2015) to local and international media and industry delegates.

Showing for the first time on the schedule are Auckland’s Lucy McIntosh, Napier’s Pardon My French and SHEN, who with a strong line up of designers in the New Generation showcase, will ensure New Zealand fashion’s newest shining lights are also well represented.

First time NZ Fashion Weekend designers, showing their in season collections include Sly Guild who will join Huffer in a group show and Stolen Girlfriends Club showing to the public for the first time.

This year NZFW is also excited to be helping a number of designers celebrate key milestones, including Zambesi celebrating 35 years in business this year, Kate Sylvester celebrating 21 years, Taylor Boutique celebrating 15 years, Juliette Hogan celebrating 10 years and Celine Rita celebrating 5 years.

NZFW Managing Director Dame Pieter Stewart is pleased to have such a strong list of designers confirmed this far out from the event, with the potential for more shows to be added to both the week and weekend schedules.

“Every year the NZFW line-up changes as designers evaluate their marketing strategies and how showing at NZFW fits with their business objectives, so it’s great to have some of the better-known designers back. It shows the industry is strong and united and that’s the sense we’re getting this year, a renewed confidence from designers and the industry as a whole.

“It’s also great to have such a talented group of new designers coming through the ranks and one show in particular I’m looking forward to is Miromoda, with some fantastic designers set to grace the catwalk in what is sure to be a highlight of the week,” added Stewart.

NZFW commences on Monday 25 August with delegate registrations and the NZFW opening party, before NOM*d kicks off a busy schedule of forward season designer shows running from Tuesday 26 – Friday 29 August.

Fashion lovers have plenty of opportunities to be part of the event. The Resene Designer Selection shows run each day from Wednesday through Saturday. NZ Fashion Weekend kicks off with an opening party Friday 29 August featuring some of Auckland’s coolest DJs and bands and a packed schedule of in-season designer shows and seminars on Saturday 30 and Sunday 31 August.
