Summer days are here again and we’re excited that the weather is starting to warm up and fashion is too. Here are a few of our favourite plus size staples to make staying stylish a breeze this summer.
Emerald City Tee, $139.00 from Dressing Room (left) and Cora Line Up Top, AUD $69.95 from Taking Shape (right).
Basic tees are a year round essential, but especially in summer when it’s hot. One of the things I get asked about most are tees that are slightly longer in length and have longer length sleeves, and these are two that fit that brief. The Emerald City Tee also comes in black if you prefer a darker option.
Stripe Tab Roll Up Shorts, $109.90 from K&K (left) and Super High Waist Knee Length Shorts, $79.99 from City Chic (right).
Knee length shorts are really easy to dress up or down – if you’re wanting something more casual go for a denim or something loose with sneakers or cute flats; and if you’re wanting to dress them up a bit then try a more structured fit with heels or wedges.
Hope & Harvest Kimono Duster, $149.00 from Sama + Kiki (left) Boohoo Plus Leopard Kimono, $35.00 from boohoo (right).
Kimonos or dusters are the ultimate layering piece, especially in summer. You can use them to brighten up a plain outfit, as a cover up over your swimsuit, or to change things up when you’re feeling like your summer staples need a little something else. There’s animal prints, florals, bright colours, plain black, we’ve even seen sparkly ones out there.
Atmos&Here Curvy Bella Jumpsuit, AUD $79.95 from The Iconic (left) and Boohoo Plus Belted Tailored Culotte Jumpsuit, $49.02 from ASOS (right).
Now I know that jumpsuits aren’t everyone’s cup of tea, but we still had to include them because they’re oh so comfortable and it’s the ultimate easy to throw on one piece outfit. Our advice to make your jumpsuit wearing experience easier: go for one that you can easily get on and off by yourself.
Sara Cross Back Maxi Dress, $129.99 from EziBuy (left) and Boohoo Plus Floor Sweeping Jersey Maxi Skirt, $30.00 from boohoo (right).
We all love a good maxi in summer, and whether it’s a dress or a skirt there’s just something about that flowing fabric! Embrace the boho vibes and wear them with a wide-brimmed straw hat and sandals or dress them up with heels and statement earrings.
Panic at the Picnic Pants, $169.00 from Dressing Room (left) and TS On With The Show Pant, AUD $119.95 from Taking Shape (right).
We love a printed pant all year round but especially in summer. Now is a great time to experiment with mixing prints, or you can pair it with something plain and let your stylish trousers take centre stage.
Pipedream Wedge Dress, AUD $99.95 from 17 Sundays (left) and Long Mayflower Dress, $149.00 from Ruby & Rain (right).
Slouchy dresses have gained a lot of popularity in recent years, and no surprise there because who doesn’t like to be comfortable? These are easy to dress up or down depending what accessories you’re using, and are the ultimate kind of low maintenance outfit.
