Sleepwear is having a fashion moment with everyone from big brands to independent labels getting in on the act like new sleepwear label pjMe which has just debuted in Melbourne. Sisters Veena Raja and Mithra Firestone couldn’t find the kind of versatile sleepwear they were wanting for travel so decided to put their careers as a lawyer and engineer on hold while they trained in design in New York.

Their debut collection features structured sleepshirts, asymmetrical nighties, silk robes and cotton tops with matching short sets in 100% natural fibres of cotton or silk. “Our aim was to compliment different skin tones and body shapes, so that women all over the world would feel confident and stylish wearing our sleepwear,” says Mithra Firestone.

The designs reflect the sisters love of vibrant colours and detailed prints with the styles cut to be flattering, elegant and easy to wear. “pjMe is fresh and fun, it’s about injecting some style and personality into bedtime,” says Veena Raja. “It’s non-traditional sleepwear that is especially suited to female travellers who need stylish sleepwear when on holiday or a business trip”

The brand is quickly gaining a social media following with an international retailer in talks to stock the new label as well. Currently they have an online store that ships to New Zealand and globally with a pop-up shop happening in their hometown at the moment. pjME is ready to take on the world.
