Paulo Melim Andersson to show at iD Dunedin Fashion Week

Paulo Melim Andersson’s Fall 2007 collection for Chloé.

Talented Swedish designer Paulo Melim Andersson has just been announced as the International Guest Judge for this month’s iD Dunedin Emerging Designer Awards on March 23rd.  Andersson has designed for top European fashion houses Chloé, Marni Margiela and Zadig & Voltaire during his fashion career and he will show a retrospective collection at the iD Dunedin Fashion Shows at the Dunedin Railway Station on March 24th and March 25th.

“I’m very excited about coming to Dunedin for iD Fashion Week 2017,” says Andersson. “It will be fantastic to share my retrospective collection with the audience at the iD Fashion Shows featuring garments from my years in fashion. The iD International Emerging Designer Awards have grown in reputation and I look forward to seeing the innovation and creativity on display from the world’s top emerging designers.”

Andersson is now a professor of fashion at the IUAV University of Venice and he will join national guest judge Marc Moore from Stolen Girlfriends Club, Australian fashion writer Georgina Safe, NOM*d’s Margi Robertson, and head judge Tanya Carlson on the international judging panel for the 2017 iD International Emerging Designer Awards.

Cherry Lucas, iD Dunedin Fashion Week chair, is delighted to welcome Andersson to Dunedin with the support of Air New Zealand and Dunedin Airport. “As a committee, we had hoped to bring Paulo Melim Andersson to iD since we first discussed inviting an international guest designer so it’s very exciting to have him coming to Dunedin for 2017,” says Lucas. “Paulo’s dynamic career in fashion has put him at the head of some of the world’s great fashion houses and we’re thrilled to see his collection here at iD. We believe it will be a spectacular highlight for our iD audiences.”

Tickets are available for the iD Dunedin Emerging Designer Awards and iD Dunedin Fashion Shows at Ticketmaster.
