The chilly winter weather is upon us which makes the release of Ovna Ovich‘s cosy Autumn/Winter 2022 collection perfectly timed. Designer Marina Davis does a beautiful job of paying homage to her Eastern European heritage with Ovna Ovich’s designs that reflect contemporary style with a timeless feel.

This next chapter, is in fact chapter 17 for the brand which was established in 2012, Marina sees her collections as short stories that are designed in small batches and released gently throughout the year hence the apt use of chapters to describe them. For this chapter, the designer has focused on knitwear with the limited edition pieces including some of the brand’s beloved styles and colourways which make a welcome return.

The warm knitwear is created with New Zealand ZQ Certified Merino and Brushtail Possum Down which makes it luxuriously soft and pill-resistant. The brand only sources materials for their collections that make a commitment to fibre quality, environmental sustainability and social responsibility. For this range, there’s an elegant selection of jumpers, tees, socks and scarves in nature-inspired hues on offer.

As part of the collection Ovna Ovich has launched a series of made-to-order, one off Blanket Jackets which are inspired by the seventies New Zealand household woolen blankets that Marina grew up with in Toko Mouth – a small village south of Dunedin. The jackets are made from repurposed blankets that the designer has collection from local vintage stores near her Karangahape Road studio. Each jacket features one of a kind ceramic buttons created by She ceramicist Saskia Nicol which adds to the unique feel of the garment. These pieces are great to keep cosy in and also to treasure for years to come.
