Oh Great Gatsby!

For those of you lucky enough to have seen this spectacular film, no doubt you will have loved the setting, costumes and scenery of The Great Gatsby.

How fabulous would it be to experience just a little bit of Gatsby in our day to day lives?

While travelling back in time isn’t an option, I did go out on the prowl for some inspiring pieces that just might be able to take you there.

1. Ruby Midnight Dress in white
2. Karen Walker Triple Pansy Diamond Ring
3. I Do crystal earrings by Kagi

I love a great show piece, the kind you just know will always maintain an intrinsic quality and make a statement. For a small investment how about this gorgeous clutch by Tamsin Cooper.

If you have a partner in crime, don’t think they wouldn’t want a bit of Jay Gatsby’s style in their life either. As an avid follower of wedding blogs, I have noticed a resurgence in tailored suits in handsome hues of blue, grey and teal – I  love it. If you’re partial to a dapper suit, or happen to be doing some pre wedding shopping, then surely these should be up for consideration.

On the home front, I just can’t go past these Sky Planters by Boskke (1.), they were a big hit over summer and still maintain a place indoors and out. Yellow in the home also adds a welcome pop of colour. How great would a ‘20s scat sound coming from the Tivoli stereo? (3.)

2. Yellow Ampersand on Canvas from Jamie Kay
3. Tivoli Stereo in yellow from Moi Design

I almost feel inspired to watch The Great Gatsby again though I don’t think my husband would want to go twice – that might be pushing it. I guess I’ll just have to settle for some ‘20s-inspired, online retail therapy instead!
