New Zealand Fashion Week has announced that the event has been rescheduled for early next year with the 20th anniversary celebration scheduled for Monday 7th February – Sunday 13th February 2022. The iconic New Zealand fashion event was effected by the sudden Auckland lockdown announced on 17th August and had to postpone this year’s event which would have kicked off on 23rd August. New Zealand Fashion Week will return to the previously scheduled venues of Aotea Square and Auckland Town Hall in the heart of the city.
“We’ve been working very hard behind the scenes to find new dates for New Zealand Fashion Week and are delighted that we’ve managed to confirm dates for February next year,” says Dame Pieter Stewart, NZFW founder and managing director. “The new dates have been welcomed by our designers and sponsors and it’s great that we can put on the event that was so highly anticipated, albeit a later date. A huge thank you to everyone who has played a part in making this happen as well as all those who have been waiting patiently for confirmation of new dates.”
Further details of the revised schedule and designers showing will be released in coming weeks. As the event will be in early 2022, there will be no further New Zealand Fashion Week in August, the next event will take place in 2023.
