NOM*d launched it’s Autumn/Winter ‘22 collection in stores and online recently with the clever new range titled Durak. Anyone who has played the traditional card game will be familiar with that name and how the goal is to shed all one’s cards to avoid being the the last player with cards in their hand, as that makes them the ‘durak’. It’s a playful place to begin the creation of a collection and with founder and creative director Margi Robertson at the helm you know the result will be chic and somewhat unexpected.

The brand has long been a fan of tartans and this season they feature in olive check, cocoa and a Prince of Wales check in burgundy and blue tones. There’s references to the game of Durak thoughout with diamonds woven in black and berry merino layered over spades and clubs which is printed on the one and only signature mesh fabric that NOM*d has ever created.

Being designed in Dunedin means the range is created for not just style but warmth with merino wool a key material used. This collection is perfect for lots of layering with suiting, knits and shirting that create a modern yet eclectic look. Among the hero pieces for the range is the deuce car coat which is oversized and reversible, offering two great options for a stylish overlayer. NOM*d has definitely played a strong hand this season.
