Layla Kaisi Collection Shines at Paris Fashion Week with Cardi B Spotlight

New Zealand designer Layla Kaisi is making waves on the global fashion scene, with her brand, Layla Kaisi Collection (LKC), taking centre stage at Paris Fashion Week. In a standout moment, rap superstar Cardi B wore three of Kaisi’s iconic rings during the prestigious Mugler SS25 runway show, further elevating LKC’s growing reputation in the world of high fashion.

This significant appearance comes hot on the heels of LKC’s international runway debut, where their striking designs were seen on supermodel Luma Grothe at the Le Défilé L’Oréal Paris show. The rings Cardi B wore — Perspective, Liminal, and Contrast, from LKC’s Outré edit — are known for their bold and boundary-pushing style, much like the high-profile celebrities who wear them.

For Layla Kaisi, this is more than just a high-fashion moment; it’s a validation of years of hard work and a testament to her brand’s growing global influence. “Seeing our designs on Cardi B at Paris Fashion Week is a milestone we’ve been working towards,” Kaisi shared. “It’s an exhilarating moment, but also a natural step in our journey to bring bold, redefined fine jewellery to the international stage.”

As the Layla Kaisi Collection continues to captivate the world’s biggest style icons and make its mark at major fashion events, it’s clear that this young designer is a rising force to watch in the fine jewellery space. From the runways of Paris to the hands of rap royalty, LKC’s star is only getting brighter.

Lululemon Unveils 2024 Report on New Zealand’s Wellbeing and Rising Burnout

Lululemon’s 2024 Global Wellbeing Report reveals that many New Zealanders are feeling burnt out as they strive to meet societal expectations of “wellness.” Despite wellbeing being a priority, 83% of Kiwis report increased stress due to pressure to achieve specific goals. New Zealand’s wellbeing score remains stagnant, with the pursuit of wellness leaving many feeling overwhelmed.

The report highlights how movement, connection, and boundaries can help break the cycle of burnout. In particular, 86% of men are turning to physical exercise to support their mental health. Disconnecting from social media and spending time in nature are also emphasised as effective strategies for restoring balance and mental clarity.

In the lead-up to World Mental Health Day, lululemon has launched the “Together We Grow” Challenge, encouraging New Zealanders to engage in movement-based activities to boost mental and physical wellbeing. Lululemon remains committed to supporting global mental health initiatives, with a $3.1M USD pledge to several international mental health organisations.

Stolen Girlfriends Club, known for its bold approach to fashion and jewellery, is set to open its new flagship store at 2 Teed Street, Newmarket, on Thursday, October 3, 2024. This intimate space marks a significant evolution for the brand as it shifts its focus towards refined rock ‘n’ roll jewellery, creating an immersive retail experience for its customers.

The architectural design of the store is crafted to enhance the expanding jewellery range, offering a gallery-like atmosphere that showcases each piece prominently. A striking seven-metre-long stretch of steel cabinets, illuminated with sleek LED lighting, serves as the centrepiece of the store. These industrial-style displays not only highlight the jewellery but also embody the brand’s gritty yet luxurious aesthetic, ensuring that the pieces remain the focal point.

Stolen Girlfriends Club’s new store features a neutral grey palette, designed to enhance the metallic finishes of the displays. This understated approach reflects the brand’s commitment to minimalism, allowing the jewellery to shine without distraction. The use of raw mild steel for the walls further accentuates the store’s industrial vibe while creating a striking visual anchor within the space. “We love the authenticity of the raw steel and how it reflects the brand identity,” said Dean Murray from the design team at Alt Group.

As the store opens, it promises to be a destination for the brand’s growing international clientele, showcasing the latest jewellery collections alongside its signature rock ‘n’ roll fashion items. “We wanted the store to feel more intimate, focusing on timeless pieces while offering a refined retail experience,” stated Marc Moore, Creative Director of Stolen Girlfriends Club.
