New Balance celebrates Grey Days throughout May
New Balance has embarked on a multi-week celebration of Grey throughout May, shining a spotlight on both the new and classic expressions of the brand’s enduring legacy in its signature hue. The deliberate choice of Grey traces back to the 1980s when New Balance sought to craft superior running shoes. In a move as meticulously considered as any performance feature, Grey emerged as the color of choice.
Embodying the fearless independence at the heart of the New Balance ethos, Grey distinguished itself amidst competitors while seamlessly blending with the urban landscapes of concrete and asphalt where runners tread. Its versatility soon became apparent as Grey running shoes proved to be stylish staples suitable for any setting. Over the years, as models evolved with advancing technology and materials, Grey remained a steadfast emblem of New Balance’s timeless quality and style.

Nick Von K Unleashes The Kraken
Nick Von K designed a Kraken pendant in his very first collection when he launched the brand back in 2010. Since then Nick has released many octopus inspired pieces which always manage to sell extremely well and Nick’s new range ‘The Kraken’ builds on this demand with a statement making collection of solid sterling silver and freshwater pearl pieces.
“In this collection I’ve paired the kooky with the classic – luscious cultured pearls with the solid sterling silver Kraken front and centre. Pearls are the treasures of the ocean so it makes sense, but there’s something unusual going on with the combo that I love, the juxtaposition of the classic with a symbol of mythology, risk and adventure is what makes it work so well” says Nick.
The Kraken represents the ultimate sea beast that even the most fearsome of pirates feared, and the new Kraken collection makes a truly unique statement. “The Kraken is a symbol of high adventure, a true pirate accepts life comes with a risk – and the greater the risk, the greater the reward” enthuses Nick. Perhaps the Kraken is a metaphor to life, there’s always risk and potential devastation lurking underneath the surface, yet we choose to brazenly set sail regardless, leaving safe harbours behind for excitement and adventures unknown.
The Kraken collection includes a statement necklace; a giant solid sterling silver ring, plus a smaller, more easily wearable version too, drop earrings with a brilliant blue topaz, and sterling silver studs for everyday wear.
