Join the Hellfire Club: the Stranger Things x Vans drop is here
There are so many fun places to go with this let’s-face-it-simply-awesome Stranger Things x Vans collaboration – from ’80s pop culture nostalgia to iconic Stranger Things references. We just want to dive into the obvious wordplay this collab offers, but we shall resist (mostly) and stick to the facts.
What you’ll want to know: everything we love about Stranger Things is unashamedly celebrated in this clever Vans collaboration. The footwear collection is led by an Sk8-Hi that dives into the Upside Down (it even includes a reflective Demogorgon screen print), while the obvious hero of the craving-it-like-crazy apparel range is the Hellfire Club Jean Jacket.
If you’ve never seen the cult show, the above may not set your pulse racing as much as bona fide fans, but even for non-Strangers (the collective name for ST fans), there’s still plenty of design creativity here to be admired.
In keeping with the addictive dedication to fine detail Stranger Things is renowned for, the Vans collab follows in those carefully laid footsteps. There’s a certain level of satisfaction around the crystal insole of the Sk8-Hi reissue design, which is ‘chewed through’ by the creature’s sharp teeth.
A round of frenzied applause also, please for the Dungeons & Dragons references and distressed and doodled-on outsoles (flashbacks to Stranger Things character Robin Buckley/Maya Hawke) on the Hellfire Club style 36 and Vans Authentic footwear offerings.
Whether or not you’re observant enough to catch the minuscule details of Stranger Things devotion here is almost a moot point. If you are, then the collection will surely be elevated to cult-like status for you, and if not, there’s still much to love here for Vans fans alone.
