New beginnings on Cashel for kiwi shirtmaker…

After a long and gruelling 18 month assessment and repair process, Nicholas Jermyn Shirtmakers are finally in a position to re-open their Cashel Mall store in Christchurch following the traumatic events of February 22nd 2011. Second of only two Cashel Street retailers to re-open in their original premises, Nicholas Jermyn’s Nick Harris says he wouldn’t have it any other way. ‘Our commitment to Christchurch has never been in question. It was just a matter of when we could return in full force and thankfully that time is now. We are delighted to be back up and running and in a position to service our loyal Christchurch customer base.’

After opening an outlet store at Dress-Smart Hornby in July 2011, Nicholas Jermyn is more positive than ever about the region, Harris says that he believes Cantabrians, not forsaking the tragedy they have endured, want a bright future to look forward to. That means rebuilding and getting on with life and having retail and hospitality back up and running in the CBD is a significant part of that.

Nicholas Jermyn will continue with their Dress-smart store and Hornby, which will be an outlet to their premium store at Cashel Mall. The Cashel Mall store will also act as a base for mobile stores throughout the region so they can continue to service their clients that are unable to return to the CBD. ‘If they (employees at large corporates) can’t get to us, then we’ll go to them. We have an exciting opportunity to make a difference, to provide service that people will remember.’ The Cashel Mall store will be open by the end of July.
