The second edition of My Vintage Town Auckland guide was recently released and features the best op shops and vintage stores in the region. My Vintage Town guide makes it incredibly easy to shop secondhand with over 80 vintage and antique stores, 50 op shops, 15 vintage markets and 7 secondhand bookshops included. There’s also 30 retro cocktail bars and traditional pubs, 20 heritage sites, 15 heritage accommodation options, 6 high tea hangouts and 1 vintage railway if you want to add some other ideas to your vintage-inspired excursion. As a special treat, the guide comes with a Dilmah tea sampler of their Infusions range for readers to enjoy while they plan their vintage shopping trips.

The free handy handbag sized guide is available from vintage retailers, boutique hotels, cafes and heritage houses around the Auckland region. The guides are published by The Metropolitan Club, with the My Vintage Town series borne from a love of op-‐shopping and providing a sustainable alternative to fast fashion and mass produced goods.

“We are so fortunate to share these fantastic independent businesses through our guides that care about our environment, about reusing and recycling, and about providing retail options that don’t involve mass production or harm to people,” says Publisher, Rose Jackson. “We love promoting them and providing an ethical and sustainable option for shopping and gift giving!”

The new edition enlisted the help of some local Auckland op shop queens (and one king) who were kind enough to share their secret spots including Danielle from Devel Men and Women, Fran Robertson – Decorator of People and Things, Sarah and Jamie from I Saw You Coming, Amy from Outliv and Carrie aka Miss Ginger Elle. The Metropolitan Club are always keen to hear from more op shop experts around New Zealand so if you would like to take part in a future guide, you can contact them via email at [email protected].

These popular printed guides feature the best op shops, vintage stores, retro retailers and secondhand traders around New Zealand with The Metropolitan Club vintage guides for Napier, Whanganui and Taranaki currently available as well. They’re a great ethical shopping resource for conscious consumers, treasure hunters and people who love a bargain!
