Miss Crabb dropped a beautiful new capsule collection for Winter 2018 today and the gorgeous range is aptly titled Romantica. The collection features rich jacquards, luscious textures and suitably romantic hues that bring the collection to life.

Creative director Kristine Crabb has utilised her signature voluminous silhouettes that are at once contemporary and timeless with classic shapes that are mixed with new ideas. A new piece is the winsome ‘Red Choir’ coat-frock in wool jacquard that creates a dramatic silhouette and is oh so covetable. Keeping with warm pieces the ‘Modern Times’ coat is a previous shape that has been given an appealing update in grey and red tartan.

Late last year, Crabb designed charming costumes for Bic Runga’s 20th anniversary ‘Drive’ tour as well as the singer’s merch. One of the stunning stage outfits in white satin has been redesigned in cherry blossom viscose and is named the ‘Bic Runga’ dress after its talented muse.

For the eye-catching campaign-style lookbook Kristine Crabb was inspired by the surrealist film ‘The Cook, The Thief, His Wife and Her Lover’, with themes surrounding decadence, beauty, black humour and obscenity. She worked with Oliver Guyon and Andrei Blidarean to bring her vision to fruition. Together they explored Flemish renaissance painting and it’s romantic, lavish aesthetic and painting style which makes for fascinating fashion images that are full of life and beauty.

Romantica is available now at Miss Crabb’s Ponsonby store, online and at the brand’s stockists.
