Looks from the latest Mina collection
Founded by mother-daughter duo Natalie and Michelle Procter, Mina is proudly designed from the duo’s Auckland studio and crafted by a small team of local women who embrace the brand’s gentle approach to design and high regard for garment construction.
Born out of the notion of creating timeless pieces that celebrate handcrafted heritage, it was a six-week seed-to-garment trip to India and the unique stories of its artisans that inspired and launched the brand.
Six years later, Mina continues to be a love letter to its makers and a constant celebration of women wearing its effortlessly elegant designs.
The Autumn Winter 2023 collection, titled Three.1, delivers a sense of familiarity and cosy comfort, bridging earthy, muted tones with hallucinogenic, bright hues, across traditional silhouettes with a modern twist.
The palette dances across shades of azure, melon and emerald, with pine, rust and oat in a compelling visual symphony.
“The hero print rust floral draws its inspiration from the duality that we often find in nature,” says Natalie.
Adding a new dimension to the Mina collection, Autumn Winter introduces a range of 100% merino knitwear produced by Standard Issue Workroom on their zero-waste knitting machines. The assortment comprises two new styles: the Collared Sweater and the Five Button Cardigan, both of which come in azure and neutral oat and cornflower marle.
Apart from a compelling line of knitwear, the season sees an iteration of favourite dresses in heavier winter stock to ensure a smooth transition into a cooler season. Most dresses are adaptable enough to be worn on their own or layered with a merino or white tee for extra comfort and support.
By virtue of reversible front and back sides, the Bud and Shenko Dresses can be worn in a variety of ways, depending on the mood or occasion.
Key pieces include the impeccably tailored Stone Coat in show-stopping melon, toned-down chocolate or black/brown houndstooth. Last season’s best-selling Cast Jacket is revisited in cobalt (with a matching Porter Pant).
With all pieces designed and created in Auckland, New Zealand, the brand’s values are deeply rooted in an intimate notion of respect and compassion for its community, along with a commitment to natural and deadstock fabrics to limit environmental impact.
