Mi Piaci set for Australian shores

Luxury footwear and handbag retailer Mi Piaci is set to open a flagship Australian store in Melbourne this week.

With 13 stores across New Zealand, the Melbourne store opens in the acclaimed new Fashion Wing of Highpoint Mall. Sitting alongside the likes of David Jones and Topshop, the 300 million dollar development offers a prime position for Mi Piaci to launch into the Australian market.

“The new Highpoint redevelopment felt like a logical fit for the Mi Piaci launch into Australia. The centre’s demographic, along with the cutting edge design, invested in the Highpoint redevelopment, means Mi Piaci will sit naturally amongst both national and international high-end retailers” says Director Shane Anselmi.

The new store opens its doors with an evolution on the fit-out as seen in the stores across New Zealand.

‘Grand travertine plinths, plush carpets and classical detailing pay homage to the Italian heritage of the collection. Contrasting solid, quality materials with light, floating fabrics was key to creating a unique space that reflects the brand’ says Mi Piaci Creative Director and Brand Manager, Thomas Cannings.

‘Coinciding with the new-look logo, which launched on the brand’s Winter 2013 seasonal imagery, it’s a fresh take on Mi Piaci. In time we will see this exciting change reflected across our New Zealand stores as well.’

The logo references Mi Piaci’s Italian roots, with the crest a direct link to the emblem of the small Italian town where the family originated.

Trans-Tasman customers will be able to reap the benefits of their loyalty in both countries, with the VIP Program expanding to encompass the Australian market.

Stocking the Winter 2013 Collection, the Melbourne flagship store will open on Wednesday March 13, 2013.
