Mi Piaci‘s elegant new Kindred collection is online and in stores this week and as the name suggests it’s inspired by women connected through a sharing of values, attitudes and beliefs – kindred spirits. The beloved footwear brand has often been inspired by the women of New Zealand and this season they’re feeling empowered by the innate strength and wisdom of women, where age is defined by lessons learned and shared.
“From the clothes we wear to the shoes on our feet, we honour the women that have dedicated their lives to dressing us. Proudly local with our team of New Zealand designers, Our prominent stance on female connection and empowerment speaks through our soles,” states this season’s collection notes.
As always the range is design-driven, with the talented team looking to international trends for their Spring/Summer 20 collection but also creating original designs that appeal to Kiwi women. There’s a freshness to this range which comes through in lots of crisp whites, buttery yellows and bold pops of red. Mi Piaci have brought back the square toe shapes that were so popular in the early 2000’s and given them a modern update.
The range itself draws inspiration from the feminine power of 80’s wall street dressing, artisanal craftsmanship, and feminine utility. That translates to a wearable mix of elevated staples and stunning statement shoes that offer eye-catching feature heels and sleek hardware. Mi Piaci have focused on versatility creating lots of chic office to evening shoes as well as casual weekend footwear to kick back in. The collection is created by New Zealand women, for all women, and is delivered with plenty of heart and lashings of style.
