Meadowlark recently launched the first drop of it’s beautiful new jewellery collection in stores and online and it’s full of gorgeous pieces to covet, the second drop arrives in late June. Titled Lucia, the range is inspired by a single rose with Creative Director Claire Hammon using the timeless symbol of beauty, love and courage for a romantic collection with vintage-tinged pieces. The designer also brought her intrigue with the ‘play of light’ across precious metals and mesmerising stones to this range offering styles that are eye-catching and radiate warmth.
“In early 2021 I discovered a tiny rose on my table, which had fallen from a gifted bouquet. I put it aside to dry and realised that its scale was aligned to delicate jewellery pieces, ” says Claire Hammon. “In that moment, a single rose became an earring. The romance inspired the collection’s standout/hero Rose story – solid metal earrings with pearl drop and hanging stud options, and an opulent cocktail ring featuring the rose on one side and fine branches holding the stone at the opposite side.”
To complement the winsome Rose story of the range, Meadowlark have created intricately twisted pieces that are inspired by the tactility and traditional craftsmanship of ropework. “The statement Twisted Rope necklace was the starting point for this excessive, but still classic vintage inspired story. The idea that was ignited by the endless rings required to form a rope look – we applied this design element to create tapering earrings and a statement ring,” adds Hammon.
The Twisted Rope pieces are beautifully detailed and the earrings are reminiscent of Meadowlark’s classic Revival hoops. The band and hoops have been designed to be stacked if the wearer desires and offer elegant styling options. For the collection’s Geneva and Lucia designs, Meadowlark have utilised an appealing selection of gemstones including citrine, garnet, and pink and green tourmaline stones with exaggerated claw settings that feature on solitaire rings, earrings and pendants. The spellbinding Union ring, which the brand describes as “a ‘toi et moi’ design” is symbolic of the union of two minds/hearts to create one love.
There’s also a selection of minimalist styles which are perfect for everyday and feature a solid metal surface for personalised engraving – names, initials, numerals, illustrations, or affirmations. The collection is rounded out by the brand’s best-selling Taboo and Halo styles and a new selection of Micropearl necklaces, bracelets, and anklets on threads of red, purple, and olive green. Meadowlark’s latest range is oh so covetable and designed to be treasured for years to come.
