Maggie Marilyn has just dropped their Season Four collection and the charming new range was inspired by designer Maggie Hewitt’s feelings about the last days of summer. The beautifully saturated hues of sunshine yellow, red and magenta make up a perfect base for her stunning pieces that transition well into the warmer months. “I was at my parent’s house by the water, it was nearing the end of summer here in New Zealand, so it was a perfect time to sketch outside lying on the grass,” says Hewitt. “It felt like the last days of summer. When you are sunkissed and you have a few more freckles. For me the end of summer is this beautiful time when my family and I go to our country house and swim, eat, laugh and play. This truly is my happy place.”
That sense of joy certainly translates through this collection and it’s impossible not to feel happy when looking at these wonderful pieces. Hewitt’s considered use of natural fabrics like silk, organic cotton and wool means these garments are as lovely to wear as they are to look at it and breathable fabrics make all the difference in the hot summer months.
