Maggie Marilyn released the first drop of the brand’s latest Forever collection in stores and online today, with the new range titled The Pursuit of Good. Designer and founder Maggie Hewitt has always been an optimist which is reflected in her joyful approach to fashion and her commitment to creating a better world through changing the way fashion is created and valued.

Tackling the climate crisis is one of the brand’s missions and this Forever collection continues to reflect the brand’s vision for a circular and transparent fashion industry, offering garments made from traceable and organic or repurposed fibres.

“When I exited the wholesale business model in 2020, one of luxuries afforded to me was precious time,” says Maggie Hewitt. “Time to design slowly and mindfully; to engage in more research and development; to design only when I felt called to do so, rather than being hamstrung by a global calendar or somebody else’s rules. To remain true to my promise of only ever designing pieces that I believe will sit in a person’s wardrobe forever. This is the longest period I’ve ever taken to design a Forever collection, and it wasn’t because I couldn’t – it was because I could. 14 seasons in, I think this is the one I’m most proud of. These are the cherished garments I will wear and take with me as I step back into the global fashion arena. This time, with more purpose and conviction than ever to Create a Better World.”

The collection itself features a beautiful range of garments in Maggie Marilyn’s signature style of elegant modernity with romantic touches. The charming ruffles and ruching that have been part of Hewitt’s designs since the beginning still feature with exaggerated sleeves and full skirts adding to their appeal. This collection sees the designer introduce delicate weaving with fringing that attracts the eye. The brand’s covetable dresses feature in the new range and so do chic suiting pieces with sophisticated blazers that elevate any look. Impeccably cut pants and gorgeous tops add more delightful options and stylish coats are the perfect outer layer for the coming cooler weather.

The colour palette offers vivid pops of raspberry, candyfloss pink, red and blue alongside soft hues of lemon, cream and classic black. This is fashion to enjoy and feel empowered by, Maggie Marilyn has always designed for women who want to have adventures and help change the world for the better.

To create the campaign for The Pursuit of Good the Maggie Marilyn team recently travelled to the picturesque, carbon-positive Good Earth Cotton Farm in Moree (Northern NSW, Australia). The imagery was created to represent the brand’s mission in motion and captures a model returning to the land which is the origin of the capsule’s story, to create valuable recall and establish respect. The brand describe it as ‘to see that Mother Nature has already created a perfect blueprint for how humans can coexist with the earth in harmony. Literally and figuratively, she is dusting off her despair and fears, and marching forward with an understanding that pace is less important than progress’.

Maggie Marilyn has always chosen a path that is in pursuit of the good and continue to use fashion to help find good solutions to the challenges we face collectively. After all, choosing fashion with a conscious and purpose is always a good idea.
