It’s been nearly a year since Maggie Marilyn launched the brand’s innovative Somewhere line of sustainable essential pieces, and today the celebrated local brand launches Somewhere Tailoring offering elevated timeless classics. The new range features elegant pieces that offer that versatility we crave from our wardrobe with beautifully designed styles in monochromatic hues.
On offer is a perfectly cut blazer that is designed in a classic tuxedo style and easily polishes any look, there’s also a matching tailored trouser or pencil skirt that skims the body. A roomy boyfriend shirt and sleeveless shirt round out the collection and work well with the rest of Maggie Marilyn’s popular Somewhere range.
“Every piece that is added to the Somewhere wardrobe goes through religious hours of research and development as I want to ensure we are adding timeless, quality essentials to our customers’ wardrobes – essentials that we hope to still be making in 10, even 20 years time,” says designer and founder Maggie Hewitt. “I wanted to create aspirational pieces in our Somewhere wardrobe; a white suit you may get married in, to a black dinner suit you wear to a black tie function. I now feel like our Somewhere offering really gives our customer a capsule wardrobe of timeless wardrobe staples that can take them anywhere, for every occasion and all housed under our values of a circular, transparent and regenerative supply chain.”
Every piece of Maggie Marilyn’s Somewhere range is the result of careful consideration and a promise the brand has made to the planet and it’s people. The designer and her team takes their commitment to sustainability and minimising the brand’s environmental footprint seriously with customers able to trace each garment’s supply chain on the brand’s website for full transparency. There’s also a detailed section on Maggie Marilyn’s sustainability strategies, impact reports and how the brand sources materials and works with manufacturers. Fashion is the medium through which Maggie Marilyn wants to make a better world.
Maggie Marilyn Somewhere Tailoring is available online now with prices ranging from $225 – 850. It will also be available in Maggie Marilyn’s stores once restrictions ease and retail re-opens in Auckland.
